How to Promote your Website(s) Using Additional Methods Beside the Traditional?

When you have website in fact it is great site by every mean; design and contents. But it will give you nothing until people knows that you got the website and you are selling product and/or service(s). To bring visitors on your site you would advertise your site on paid directories, advertising classified website, even you will go for PPC (pay per click) services. Beside this you will also hire expensive SEO (Search engine optimization service) provider to gain search engine organic/free targeted traffic.

But there are still few ways, which are overlooked by most of webmasters and entrepreneurs. There are lots of obvious ways in which you can get targeted traffic:

Bookmarks in news, networking websites: In the recent internet, I am sure you might have come across the term social networking or bookmarking etc website resources, which are basically news, video, photo sharing sites. But from the modern internet marketing practices it is became obvious source of targeted traffic to your site. Honestly, its use is become the challenge to SEO professionals and their future, because the time has arrived that steams of discussion are started in the comparison of SEO. (I will write separate article for the SEO and SMO (Social media Optimization). Here, I just want to say that, it is the new way of very efficient way to have desired visitors to your site. I know more than 100 social websites from which you can establish this kind of traffic.

Add bookmarking link at your website: Add the link at your home page, asking visitors of your site to bookmark your website. Beside this old fashion link add few linked icons of social networking sites. Codes of these icons and widgets are found easily at the respective social networking sites.

Promote your site in mailing lists, Forums etc: there are many of targeted e-mail based discussion lists, chat rooms and news groups provided by the internet people free of cost with categorized pages. Where you can sign-up and select the category and start discussion. You can spend one or two hours weekly searching for groups where a conversation is taking place. Do not use aggressive marketing and overly plug your company, even if you see some people doing so. Instead, add to the discussion in a helpful way and let the signature at the end of your e-mail or post message do the marketing for you. People will gradually get to know and trust you, visit your website, and do business with you.

Use additional viral marketing techniques: Use your site visitors and customers; many have their communication networks, to spread the word about your web site. Some examples include word-of-mouth, public relations, referrals, blogs, and other forms of network marketing.

Become an online expert in your field: Use your expertise to become an expert in your field and promote your website for free. Sign up for Yahoo Answers or Google Answers and Google webmaster, and answer questions asked by online visitors. You will have the opportunity to write your company’s URL in your profile. It is a great way to gain additional Internet exposure as well.

Use your business cards: When you plan to have stationary for your company; like visiting cards, letterheads and brochures don’t forget to add your website URL

Use your daily and day to day emails communication: Utilize signature option of your email client as a way to bring visitors to your website. Add your company name, address, phone, fax email and URLs of your business website and the blog.

Use newsletter: Ask your web designer to create a quality, yet a simple newsletter template. Start publishing a monthly or fortnightly newsletter which is one of the very best ways to keep in touch with your prospects, generate trust, develop brand awareness, and build future business. Don’t forget to place your URL along with your other contact information, in each newsletter you send out.

Use press releases: When your business has an event, create press releases and submit online news channel (also add it to social networking sites) sites. Use these opportunities to mention your company’s URL near the bottom of each news release. There are many online press releases or news websites, including PRWeb.com, PRWire.com and others you may use to promote something exciting happening within your company.

Write articles: Start writing articles about your business and express your expertise. These articles, you can add to your newsletters, submit these in article directories like articledashboard.com etc. Also these article links can be added to the bookmarking website. Remember here in articles you can add linked keywords which will also be great as far as SEO is concerned. Many article directories allow you to place two to three linked key words with each article you submit in resources box.

Traditional means: be sure to include your URL in any display or classified ads you purchase in trade journals, newspapers, magazines, yellow pages and more. Ask an expert to create an attractive add for you which contains the offers, services, products info in brief. Now place URL of your website where the visitors can obtain more information and perhaps place an order. Look carefully at small display or classified ads in the back of magazines or trade periodicals. Sometimes these ads are more targeted, more effective, and less expensive than online advertising. Consider other traditional media to drive people to your site, such as direct mail, classifieds, post cards, etc Note: From above notes you would see that many Medias for placing your articles are inexpensive and free, but very effective.
